The bubbles… sometimes I get this feeling of living in a bubble… Sounds a bit hippieish, I know, but let me explain!
My theory is that everyone lives in some kind of social bubble; everyone has their own friends and their own circuit of people which they know. The people you know are integrated in your bubble and likewise you are in theirs. You know all the people in your bubble and some of the people in your friends bubble, and of course you’re integrated in several bubbles.
However, sometimes you meet people who you never seen before and they become integrated in your bubble. They become integrated in yours and you in theirs, but you are just in the outside of the bubble, you don’t know the other peoples in the bubble at all. The only reason of you knowing them is that the bubble owner has told you about them.
Now, this is how I see it… It may seem cute but to me it creates a problem. I am a quite curious and social person, and this leads me to the point of wanting to meet everyone in the new bubble and to integrate them in my own… like some sort of social predator. I can, sometimes in my weaker moments, feel some kind of agony over not knowing every person in the world, or at least knowing every person I find interesting
I know it’s silly but I can’t just help it… And I always get this feeling after being on a travel or afterwards, which leads to an urge to continue travelling and meeting new persons. Sometimes it’s really a good feeling to have, and sometimes it’s a real pain in the as! I mean, when you start to grow jealous on other people because they know persons I don’t, then it starts to be on the borderline…
