So… I went to town yesterday, why? I was going to a party… WOOOHOOO!!! Well yeah… maybe I should tell the story from the beginning…
Took the buss to town cause I had to do some stuffs at the bank, and I had to get some new clothes, and I had to try and get the buss card so I can take the buss for free, and of course I was invited to this party… So I went to town!
The stuffs at the bank and the buss card thingy where done after about an hour (didn’t get the fucking buss card cause those who work with it are on holydays… fuck…). So that left me in town with nothing to do for about six hours… Hmmm… guess that’s a bit of a lie b’cause I where supposed to go to my sister and… ehum… well… she where going to give me some musik… yeah I know, piracy is a crime, SO?!
So… When I was finished with the bank and the other thing, I tried to call some friends to maybe take a coffee or just hang out… didn’t go to well so I found my self alone in fucking Visby on Gotland with a five kilo bag on my shoulder and an increasing pain in my knees… TOP FUN!
Well anyway, at last I got hold on my sister and her boyfriend. Went with Leo (the boyfriend, which however is really fat!) to the “Systembolaget”…
Maybe I should explain this to those of you who is not of Swedish origin.
In Sweden you’re only allowed to buy alcohol after you’ve turned 20 (which sucks!), and then the only place where you can buy alcohol is at special shops called “systembolaget” ( the name is composed of two nouns; “System”, which means (oddly enough…) system. And “Bolaget”, which means company. This gives us: “The System company”… yeah, I know it seems bizarre, but then again it’s Sweden J). The “systembolaget” is entirely controlled by the government… which may seem a bit strange to. In fact, at least this is what I’ve heard, the only two countries in the world which has a system like this is Sweden and…. CUBA!! Yepp… it’s us and the commies against the world order!! (oh, after some correction, I have to ad Iceland to... the poor bastards)
So anyway, we went in to “systembolaget” b’cause Leo where buying booze for new years eve. Inside I met a friend of, and the host, of the party I was going to. The strange thing about this is that the host never drink alcohol and his friend is from france… so I had to tell the French guy what the youth in Sweden drink. I advised him to buy a Jaegermeister and Redbull and, of course, Vodka!
When we had done everything we should my sister, a friend of us and me went to her place so I could get the music I wanted.
After some problems with connecting our computers (Mac + PC = PROBLEMS!!) I finally got the music… I filled the fucking harddrive, now I have 104mb left… that’s… hmmm… Interesting.
Well after taking a pizza with a friend (one of the pizza guys turned out to have lived five years in Lyon in france… and now he works on a pizza shop in one of the ugliest suburbs on Gotland… sometimes the world is really small) we left for the party. The party turned out to be somewhat of a flop. It wasn’t boring, it wasn’t just what we had expected it to be. We where 7 boys and a girl (there was a couple with us), 5 of us where Swedish who spoke French, one guy where Frenchman, and two where just regular Swedish who didn’t speak a word French.
The poor Frenchman wanted to meet Swedish girls (they’re kind of mythical), so we went to a bar called the surfers. There we met one of my friends from my old class back here, Julia. The Frenchman instantly started to… hmmm… how do you say it… hit? It’s a bit strong as word but yeah, he kind of instantly started to hit on her. Now there was a problem though. He spoke French and just a little bit English (he’s Frenchman!!), and she spoke Swedish and English… so I had to Interpret… which was really interesting!
Anyway, the evening finished (as is the tradition in Sweden) around 3 o’clock in the morning at a hamburger bar taking a hamburger. The Frenchman didn’t get Julia (she flirted with another guy instead), I made a new French friend which lives just south of Clermont Ferrand which is not at all far away from Annonay, and I got to meet loads of my friends…
In short; the evening was a success!
Shit I have written a fucking essay… maybe I should just wrap it upp…
Yeah so. During my stay in “town” I managed to get my self drunk, speak loads of French, get a new French friend and I also found a new pair of pants (12 euro!!! I really love to go shopping after Christmas, everything is so much cheaper then!) a new sweatshirt and loads of new music!
I have to admit that I really enjoy staying in Sweden and to met my friends and my family… but now I really want to go back to France… mainly because of one person…
Alda! I think I’m going to explode or implode or something… I don’t know anymore... the only thing that’s sure is that I’m going insane if I don’t se you soon!
Well, guess this is the end of this thingy… thanks for reading it!

In Norway they have "Vinmonopolet", the only difference from the swedish system is that the prizes are - if possible - much higher.
ReplyDeletehaha, I beg your pardon, I did not (host) flirt with him.. :P
