Soundtracks: Colony 5 with “Accelerate” and A.F.I with “Miss Murder”. (Thanks siss!)
So well… ehum!
Sitting in my bed with my laptop in my lap… hmmm… that’s a strangely bizarre phrase… But it’s true! Yeah well anyway, promised last time that I was going to tell you about my plans for a backpacking trip around the world. This summers travelling and me staying in France now has really made me keen on travelling. And so I have started to make up plans for a backpacking trip. This trip isn’t scheduled until two years or so, after I have graduated and done my military service. This however doesn’t stop me from sit alone with an old travelling magazine for backpackers (which strangely enough have a huge article about Iceland… humdidumdido…).
Well, me being a huge boarding/extreme sports fan and all have of course put up some destinations which are impossible to miss: Australia, New Zeeland and maybe Hawaii (although I’m afraid it’s a bit to mercantile).
Then I’ve got all these places where I know people or have had friends who have visited and told me I have to go there, or I’ve just become interested in going there: Canada (where I of course also can do some snowboarding J), Iceland, South America (Chile, Brazil…), Ireland and Scotland, Polynesia and Japan.
Then I have a great ending on the trip, the Trans-Siberian railroad.
The problem with this is however to link them together in a god way. A possible rout is:
Fly to Scotland and then take a boat to Ireland. From Ireland I take the plane to Iceland and from there to east of Canada. In Canada I hitchhike or take a buss to the west coast where I continue southwards, hitchhiking or going by buss down through the U.S. cause I want to se L.A, Frisco, and California. Then I have some choices: I could try and continue southwards by buss and hitchhiking, or I could catch a plane down to Chile ( I think it can be a bit of a problem to do both Brazil and Chile (I want to save my money to New Zeeland and Australia).
After south America I’ll take the plane to the country of extreme sports; New Zeeland!
From there I surf my way to Australia J and then I surf around in Polynesia for a while before I go to Japan.
After Japan it’s Beijing and the Trans-Siberian railroad to Moscow. And from there it’s not so far to go home again.
Travelling time; would it be to optimistic to say one year?
Where do I come up with the money? Well, the military service will give me like 5600 or 3300 Euro depending on how long I’m doing it, other than that I have to work like an idiot for the coming years. I also have some money saved, but I think that I have to save those for my studies.
I can however work during the trip to, and I don’t have to take the plane al the time, I have the certificate to go travel on boats, so if I want to I can probably work my way around pretty good.
Yeah I know that I forgot Hawaii... maybe another time?
A fun thing about this trip though is that one can se that it’s two types of countries I really love; those who are Islands and those who have mountains. And of course, those who have both!!
Well that’s my plans for the future… lets se if I manage to fulfil them, or if it ends up like it use to; in nothing.
Well anyway, I’m going to town with my family now. Gotta buy some new clothes and shoes… my pants are falling to pieces, even though I know it’s the fashion nowadays it’s not so great to walk around in pants without buttons… And concerning the shoes, well my knees gave up after the last competition I did on asphalt so...
Think I post this together with some pics tonight when I come home again…

Yeah well it's me... in my new white and red-striped sweater
