Second atempt.
Well, as some of you might know already, I fled Tasmania and ended up in Melbourne.
Why you might ask yourselves. For a couple of resaons actually.
First of all, No work! (not that my situation have improved, but I'll get to that later...)
Second reason; Tas is not that fun if you don't have your own car and proper campingear...
...well, I could make this list go on for a while, but I won't bore you with that!
What I will bore you with is a bit about what happened in tas and what I'm doing in melb.
I am the conqueror of Mnt Wellington and Cradle Mnt alike, I am the discoverer of the tasman temperated rainforest and I am the survivor of the Launceston heatwave.
ehum...
Well, after a couple of days in Hobart, this o so nice city (where you basicly don't have anything to do) I started to panic. Me and a german guy decided to do SOMETHING and not just sitt around, so we walked up the majestic mount wellington that constantly keeps a watchfull eye on Hobarton.
For you who never been to hobart (most of you readers I suppose) I can tell you that Mnt Wellington is a bit higher than 1200m, and from where we started our walk it's a bit more than 400 klimbing meters and a trail of about 3-4km one way...
Now this doesn't sound much, but the estimated time to do this walk is 7 hrs back and forth from the busstop. We did it in 5hrs back and forth, including the busride from central Hbart.
In your faces slowgoing australians and tassies!
After this tripp I definitely didn't want to stick around. So I panick-booked a 3 day trip along the westcoast of tasmania.
One of the nicest trips I've done so far down here if I may say so.
Along the trip we stoped at rainforests, sanddunes by the sea (to go quadbike-driving), and finally at Cradle mntn nationalpark.
Beautiful landscape and scenery... which looked pretty much like the mntns back home. Except that in sweden we don't have wallabies, possums, wombats or tassie devils...
Anyway, I ended up climbing cradle mntn together with the guide and a couple of other persons from the trip... Words can't describe the feeling of standing on top of mntnt like that, looking down on the clouds.
Well, not much to say about the rest of tassie.
Got droped of in Devonport to try and find work. Nothing there, so I headed to Launceston. Nothing there either, except four days of pounding heat (+40 c...), so I decided to bail out and hit the mainland again.
Now, I knew that I was running low on cash. Just not how low I was running.
I'm not completely stuck...yet. But It's not far from it.
So I've almost been in Melbourne for a week now.
Living of the freefood-shelf in the hostel kitchen and pretty much only been going to free-entry things like the museums and some free concerts and festivals (chinese new-year in chinatown, concert in Queen Victoria place, stand-up comedy at the comedyclub and so on...).
I'm looking for work everyday... without finding anything.
Face it! I'm of season.
Well, I'm trying not to despair and keep myself happy... according to harvesttrail (farmwork providers) I'll "only" have to wait untill the 16th to get a jobb... it sucks, but it's like that.
That's all for now folks. Trying to keep updated more often...
